Not a substitute for professional care
Information on this site cannot replace an assessment by a qualified healthcare professional who knows your symptoms, history, medicines, and circumstances.
Do not disregard, stop, or delay professional advice or prescribed treatment because of something you read or tried on SOS-Stress.
Using the exercises
Breathing, grounding, meditation, sound, and relaxation activities are optional self-support practices. Results vary, and no exercise is guaranteed to reduce stress or produce a health benefit.
Keep breathing gentle and comfortable. Never force or deepen a breath. Stop and return to normal breathing if you feel dizzy, lightheaded, short of breath, distressed, or otherwise unwell. Seek appropriate medical advice if symptoms persist or concern you.
If you have a respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, psychiatric, or other health condition, are pregnant, or are uncertain whether an exercise is suitable, ask a qualified healthcare professional before using it.
Emergencies and urgent symptoms
Do not use this website to assess an emergency. Contact your local emergency service immediately if you may be in immediate danger or have severe or sudden symptoms such as chest pain, major breathing difficulty, fainting, stroke-like signs, or an urge to harm yourself or someone else.
Limits of online information
Although we aim to use reliable sources and correct errors, online health information can become outdated and cannot cover every situation. External resources are provided for reference and remain under the responsibility of their publishers.
By using SOS-Stress, you acknowledge that its content and exercises are general educational resources and not individualized healthcare.
